SYNOPSIS

Alina is 25 years old. She comes from Ucraina and works as a prostitute in the surroundings of Rome. Jani, the guy who everyday brings her to the streets, cannot stop looking at her. Alina is pregnant and he strongly believes to be the father of the child. This illusory certainty pushes him to find a way out from the cage around them. 

DIRECTOR’S INTENTION

“In a world where women are treated like commodities and every feeling for them is negated, a young man who is used to being the one who inflicts finds in his victim the only hope of giving a voice to his own dreams and ultimately his redemption. He clings to un unreal relationship. He convinces himself he is the father of a child who could be anybody’s. I wanted to work on this paradox and attempt to show a scrap of life that’s diametrically opposed to what we read in the news when prostitution is discussed, but try to film it with the rawness and the succinctness of a news story. Showing how two human beings can come together despite the invisible fence that has always kept them separated”. Carlo Sironi
